WordPress Blog

WordPress is the words most used CMS (Content Management System) and powers over 26% of all websites on the internet. Some of the biggest brands in the word use WordPress, who you ask, how about Beyonce..Need I say more. If you are thinking about creating a website and are still weighing the pros and cons of how to do it, here is some reasons why WordPress is the way to go.

It is free and open source

WordPress is free for anyone to download, it’s open source which means that it is developed by many different contributors. You can get free themes and plug ins, but in some cases it is better to use premium (paid) ones, they usually offer better support and more options. There are thousands of free and premium themes and plug ins to customize your site anyway you want.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Friendly

WordPress is SEO friendly, the best search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing like to rank WordPress websites higher than others. The framework used by WordPress makes it easy for the Google to crawl your site, Google even endorsed WordPress back in 2009. It comes SEO ready out of the box, but if you want to take your SEO to the next level then the Yoast SEO plug in is a must have.

You have full control of your website

Some other Content Management Systems such as Squarespace, WIX, and shopify are perfectly good for making websites, but are non open source and control many features in eCommerce, SEO, and editing code. You do not have the freedom take your site to another host to find the best value and performance. With WordPress you can take your website wherever you want and you own all of the files, you are not just a renter.

Mobile Friendly

Almost all WordPress Themes are Responsive or Mobile Friendly, so you will not have to change your whole site to make it look good on tablet and smartphone. Google is penalizing sites that are not mobile friendly, they are ranking them lower than sites that are mobile friendly, that right there is reason enough to have WordPress.

Integration

WordPress makes it easy to integrate 3rd party plug ins, if you are looking to integrate newsletters, WordPress makes it easy to set up email campaigns with your email marketing company. Looking to take credit card payments? setting up a eCommerce site is easy,  Social Media? you can do that as well. WordPress makes it easy to set up almost any plug in for any kind of function that you are looking for.

It has a huge Community

If our run into a problem or have a question most likely there is somebody who has the answer in the many WordPress support forums.  What it also means is that if you ever want to outsource work on your site, design, maintenance, SEO there are many people who will now how your site works and how to work with it.

It is series about security

It makes updating your site to the latest software easy, which is critical in keeping hackers and internet thieves out of  your site. Some software updates are automatic and others such as plug ins are as easy as clicking the checkbox next to the items and hitting the updates button. Keeping your site updates is key in preventing security vulnerabilities. Other ways of keeping your website safe are as easy as installing a security plug in to help prevent unwanted hackers and data thieves.

This is why I recommended and also use WordPress myself, it gives your so much control over your website. If you want to look professional, get results for your business, WordPress will almost always be your best bet.
